IMHO, I wouldn't want to mask out a "couple of mm" off the edge of a 
mirror just for that. Go about business as usual, and when you look 
through the scope (rather than at it) they will be undetectable. If they 
really bother you, after it's coated take a *tiny* brush and fill them 
in with black paint (glossy, if you read Ken's post :-) ).
