I think we think just that...

With a glossy surface, we can at least control what can be reflected 
into the light path - if a glossy black surface reflects light from a 
matte surface, it will most certainly look blacker than a matte surface 
reflecting light from more or less everywhere. So why not make the 
parts of the OTA visible from the focuser glossy black and placed as to 
reflect dark parts (like the backside of the secondary holder, or for 
the mirror box top, a "skirt" over the lowest part og the truss?

Would require a bit of new thinking about design and geometry, but 
possible I think
