[ATM] How dark is dark?

MatteWILL reflect more light.  It will just be more scattered.  I was
once surprised to catch a glimpse of my OTA interior "glowing" when
viewed at an angle in the mirror's reflection.  I was quite startled. 
In low light situations where you really won't be getting any 'direct'
reflections, then glossy will be darker.  Or as suggested, perhaps just
down into the area the eye piece will be looking.  The point is, matte
will reflect more light, it is just more scattered.  Of course isn't
that what baffles do?  ;)
