Hi Russel (and others),

As indicated in my original post, what really impressed me about
these older accordian style bellows is that the materials that
were originally used were in fact already of very high quality
and durability. I have a Zeiss medium format (6x6 cm) camera from
roughly 1920's. The bellow still works perfectly. I have left
Ilford 3200 film in that camera for many moons and then taken
excellent night sky photos with it getting no detectable exposure
from the time during storage. Admittedly, the style is a plus, but
since the baffle still works fine, no restoration is needed
either. I am not sure what modern material would serve as a
superior replacement. So for a start, I am aiming at materials
as similar as possible to original. For now, plain paper will
be used to learn the geometry (origami?).
