Addendum: I added a figure called v101_lyot.png that is a simulated
phase contrast test from from wavefront.  In this case, I filtered out
artifacts, but not the low-order terms.  I also flipped the wavefront
left-to-right to line it up with the orientation of Dale's images.
(I'm not positive that they are in the same rotational position,
however).  There are some faint linear markings, but no clear worm
tracks.
