[ATM] questions about the condition of this mirror UPDATE

Hello gents, thought I would update this thread and share my current
situation.

after digesting what Mark, Francis and James told me, I went back and made a
square tile tool and did the fine grinding 320 , 600, 9, 5, ceo. I checked
along each change of grit and all was gone except a half moon shaped crack on
the surface(this one i will leave aloe as if I progress to much deeper I will
be close to opening a bubble just below the surface).

I ordered one pound of g73 (mistake #1) and because it was not enough for
a 13" tool I reused the pitch I had been using. it's on a hydrostone 2" tool.

I have re-introduced 3 scratches to this mirror and now I'm conviced that I
may have contaminted pitch, also while re-doing the channels under water a few
times I felt the blade hit the tool and acutally saw pieces of
hydrastone(pulled them out)

the other problem and this one is my fault, in one of those screen pressing
to do microfaceting, as I removed the screen and layed the tool back dow i
heard the tool hit the glass (I try my best to lay it down at a very slow pace
and at a small angle to get one side down fist) the night this happened I did
not chk it very well, 2 days later as I did a fine chk I found the scratches
and 3 smaller half moon shapped cracks on the surface near the center.

you must realize how embarrassing this is to me, to lay it out here in the
open, but live and learn is my way of live !

Wednesday night I will go to the glass pushing class at laas and show it
to Ken and Bob and get their opinion as well as yours, but to me here is what
is in my mind

    1:fine grind again
2:new pitch 3 lbs I like 73 for my temp here and can thin with linseed if
needed
3:new substrate for tool like 3 pieces of plywood glued and water proofed
with varathane (oil based) or get a aluminum disc expensive but I may have a
source.

Well I'd like to know you opinion on or off board it matters not. as this is
how we learn from each other

thank you
Roman
