My apologies in advance for this off-topic posting.

I have previously posted on the blind test, wherein the virtual image of
vertical blinds is reflected at  grazing angle from the surface of a fine
ground, but unpolished surface.  With the right orientation, this can
greatly magnify deviations from a sphere and reveal ground-in TDE and other
defects.

I have a number of plastic vertical blind slats 3.5" x 78" on hand that are
not needed for surface testing.   These will serve nicely as dams for making
plaster [sic] grinding tools and pitch lap foundations up to 24" diameter.
