Basically, where you jpolish is where you remove material. You
have been walking up near the edge but not getting there with the
strokes that you have been doing. Run them a bit further over
the edge and things shpold start to look better. Odds are that
you will be finding that the turned down edge will again appear
without the rollup of the edge.
I'll note that thee term roll up is a larger distance term than a
turned down edge which is a more narrow term. At least it is in
my book.
For the Foucualt test to make it easier, it is nice to go get a
camera to do the actual testing. I stopped by a Rite-Aid Drug
store, formerly Thrifty, and they had a $35 color secutity camera
complete and red76 for operation! I picked one up and am going
to try it out for fun. The image of a lens may be small with the
standard lens but it is easy to pull the standard lens and put
the whole camera in a small box with another lens (simple
achromat or even a simple DCX lens_ of about 1" of focal length
and use it that way. The lens does need to be as close to the KE
as possible and you do want to mount the camera so that it is
moving with the KE. Focuse the lens to the mirror that youu are
testing and put the KE so that it is in the middle of the lens
and things will work out really nice.
