I once had a mirror stick, and the freezer, water temp differences, and
just plain soaking all didn't work (soaking overnight had worked best in
the past).  But there were a few channels exposed, so I took it outside,
leaned it mostly upright on the inside wall of a bucket, and blasted the
channels with a garden hose.  It separated in about 2 minutes.
