I posted a saga about my 8" dob (first and only completed scope) at

I plan to add some links to procedures and understandings that others do a 
better job of articulating in the future.  But it is also posted with a 
slant for less engaged parties, and simpletons like me who may be daunted by 
some of the really advanced stuff yall get into.

If anyone has the inclination or chance to check it out, and steer me in 
better directions on this next project...please do.

I'm in a meditative state right now in order to come up with a goal and 
approach for the 12" chunk i trepanned.  I plan to square up the edges, and 
have been looking into procedures for grinding the back flat in the mean 
time.

Hope my questions and digging for insight isn't getting on yalls nerves.  I 
must also give many hearty thanks to all of yall who have been sending me 
info, and pushing me with interesting observations and ideas.
