Horace, either 1" or 2" can be used and I have used both. I generally
use the 1" but used 2" on my 20" f3. The important thing is that the
tiles must be hard (vitreous) clear through. Floor tiles, usually sold
in mat form (12 X 12 or 12 X 24) are this type. DO NOT USE WALL TILE
which is soft inside but has a hard glaze on the outside. You can use a
dental plaster tool and no adhesive is required as the tiles are embedded
in the plaster. I make my tools out of plywood or HD particle board
disks that are surfaced with autobody epoxy filler epoxy to get the shape
and then use polyester resin to seal the wood and glue the tiles in
place. You might also consider using the the tiles on edge in a poured
dental plaster tool as has been described in recent emails to the list.

durbond to set the tile in or the cement that they use for setting the
floor tile with.
