I use this. My atm account is one of the least spammed addresses I have.

I have this on the server side along with
The *Spamhaus* Project <http://www.spamhaus.org/>
I configure Thunderbird to put all spam and emails not directed to me in
the trash. I check before deleting, but it is one less step. ;)
Seriously, I only get one or two a day to my atm address at TOPS so I
don't know if your spam is coming from the archives or not.
I spend a ton of my time on spam control. :( Estimates are that 90% of
all email is now spam. I find that to be accurate watching the server
logs. My motto has become KILL MORE SPAMMERS. Government doesn't want
to be bothered. Their claims of not being able to find them is bogus.
Follow the money.
Email is still one of the best internet tools their is, IMHO. Things
like this list ARE affected if people just get to annoyed with email in
general. (That is my tie in to ATM Michael ;) )
Bottom line, you can train Thunderbird email filters. Send all spam to
trash (the default setting is a separate junk folder) Ask you ISP what
filtering they do. If you are getting over one hundred a day, they
aren't doing much.
