[ATM] Nearly polished...but...

Thanks for the response all,

But to what Francis said/asked...

The chunk of glass is a cut from a 3/4 piece of plate glass that was headed
for the landfill...origins unknown.

unfortunately i was hoping to get it done before summer set in so i ordered
middling Gugholz...uhg

As for hyperbaloid i'm only guessing from the shadows and ronchi lines that
I'm a big fat novice at understanding anyhow, but that's my best guess from
what i see in the books. My understanding of testing is laughable compared
to yalls...I can't figure out what half of the data reduction programs are
asking me, and was barely able to satisfy my self with the first mirror i
made using only what N.E. Howard describes (doing math long hand and
averaging results)..and i wonder what yall would say about that mirror!?!

thanks for the advice.

Norman,

Glad to see that you are making spectacular progress.

What type of glass are you using for the mirror substrate?

I hope with your environmental factors you are using a hard lap, Gugholz 73
or the equivalent or harder!

Now, back to more pressing issues. Hyperboloid?

Lap on top, stop putting so much pressure on the back of the mirror when it
is on top.

I would go lap on top for an hour to see what that does to your edge and
figure. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Please keep us posted.
