[ATM] VIVA towels protect optical surfaces?

Hi all,
I need to ship a mirror for recoating and I was
wondering how to protect the optical surface. It was
originally sent from the coaters protected by what
appeared (from their texture) to be VIVA brand paper
towels. I know R.F. Royce recommends specifically
VIVA towels for cleaning optics, and woodworkers like
its lint-free surface for applying stains and wipe-on
finishes.
I have also gotten mirrors with the optical surface
protected by Saran(-like) wrap, by what appears to be
coated lens tissue, and by a thinner transparent
tissue with a more open soft weave.
I will of course contact the coater for
recommendations, but does anyone on the list have any
experiences/suggestions to share positive or negative?
Ross
