Many years agoWilliam Marriot posted a link to the list on making 
diagonals, IIRC he mentioned in his post the use of  parafin with pitch 
as his blocking media. I was left with the impression the media had some 
"give" to it. I believe he also stated that folks in the trade guarded 
their recipes. Forgive me in advance if I have misquoted him. Maybe he 
will chime in.
