It wasn't a crow...
It was a glint of sunlight in a Raven's eye.

I have recently star tested a couple of 6" mirrors. I did so in the
telescope and collimated indoors prior to taking the scope outside. It can
be a pain to collimate an uncoated mirror and next to impossible in the
dark. It helps to block all light from the back end of the tube while
collimating.
