[ATM] Diagonal for a telescope

Vince and Haig,

Where are you?  How big a telescope are you hoping to make?  How big are your hands, height, how large a telescope tube (pillar) can you reach around?  Those are all measures I use to advise people on how big a first telescope they should build.  Also please tell me about the school project/class.  That I'm just curious about.

I can help with some stuff, like a diagonal and maybe a holder, but not a spider, small mirror glass but not a mirror mount.  So send me your full list of "don't haves."

Currently I'm 80%, maybe 90% through with a small refractor for an 11 year old.  The daughter of a friend's brother in law in law.  Other than some inexpensive eyepieces (Surplus Shed) I had all the stuff laying around.

It's way cool to see the look on a young person's face when they get a first telescope.  Makes it more than worthwhile.

To the other listys, do you have enough stuff to through together a small scope for a young person or primary school?  And if so, what are you waiting for?
