Shigemi,

>0.0 (100% intensity)
>to 1.9 (0% intensity)? If tabulated, is the following correct?

>Gray Scale Sinusoidal intensity
>0 (white) 100% intensity
>0.5 75%
>0.95 50%
>1.45 25%
>1.9(black) 0%

If "Gray scale" is optical density or absorbance defined as
A=-log(I/Io) (log base 10), where Io is input intensity and
I is output intensity, than relation between output intensity and
absorbance gives this table:

Optical density intensity intensity
(absorbance) as % of input int. on 0-255 scale
0 100 255
0.5 31.5 80
0.95 11.3 29
1.45 3.2 8
1.9 1.26 3

I am not sure what you meant by "sinusoidal" intensity. know. Anyway,
perhaps this helps.
Regards
Vladimir.
