Not really.  I did notice that and looked around for a better fit, but 
didn't find one.  It may simply be that the optimization by chance found 
a local minimum in the 4.0 case that is poorer than the 3.5 case.  That 
seems to happen.  It may be that more effort would yield a better 
design.  If there is an optical reason for it, I don't have a clue.
