Do you have any "Thrift Shop" type stores available? Try looking for
old or obsolete video cameras. These are very cheap here in the USA and
are a great source of the motors, many with gear boxes and most are DC.
Both focus and zoom usually have motors that are very adaptable. Old
point and shoot film cameras are another good source. The film advance
and rewind motors as well as the focus motors are almost always DC. Old
flat bed scanners are another good source. All of these are plentiful
and cheap here and are a great source of many mechanical, electronic and
hardware parts.
