By definition it is interpretation of data.

Not to me. QED is not plausible to me, general theory of relativity
is not plausible to me ( and to 99+% of people). Creation is plausible
because it is oversimplified story from times when facts were scarce,
today with more facts at hand it is only unsupported relics of the wishful 
thinking sort.
It does no harm as such and is therapeutic for many people.
If forced on people it is the forcing that is harmful not the naive story.
